Why is Age Connections private care management a good choice?

Through Age Connections, you have access to one reliable service that acts as a "surrogate adult child" for an older person whose needs encompass a range of physical, social, environmental, emotional and financial management issues.

Are private care management fees reimbursed through Medicare/Medicaid/Private Insurance?

No. Currently, private care management fees are paid by the older person, their estate or the adult child(ren).

Are private care managers licensed?

Generally they are professional social workers and/or registered nurses and they are licensed under their professional designation. Although there is currently no nationally identified license, the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers has a certification designation, after rigorous testing, of a Care Manager, Certified (CMC).

How are private care managers different from home health agencies?

Private care managers offer you a single contact for an array of services. They also take a holistic approach to care in that they assess the older person for physical, social, environmental, emotional and financial management needs rather than just concentrating on one or two areas. They can assist in current and future life care needs along the continuum of care from home to skilled nursing home care.

How does private care management save money?

Private care management allows the older adult to stay in his or her own home rather than a retirement home or nursing facility, thus saving a substantial amount of money in living costs. And, because Age Connections already has an extensive network of sources and contacts in place, adult children are relieved of taking the time to contact, screen and supervise all of the caregivers involved with a parent. As care management professionals, Age Connections can do all of that - and more - for you, in the most time- and cost-effective way possible.
